What is ramipril?

What is ramipril?

  • Type of drug: angiotensin-converting-enzyme inhibitor (ACE)
  • Use: high blood pressure (hypertension); CKD with protein in urine (especially diabetes); congestive (chronic) heart failure (CHF)
  • Dose: 12.5-10 mg once a day
  • Side-effects:
  • Monitor: U+E, potassium.

Note 1. Other ACEs include Lisinopril and Perindopril
Note 2. Do NOT use with ARB
Note 3: ACE inhibitors should be avoided in pregnancy.
